Terracotta for Spring

Terracotta for Spring is a runtime for Spring-based applications that provides transparent and high performance clustering for your Spring applications with zero changes to the application code. With Terracotta for Spring, developers can create single-node Spring applications as usual. They simply have to define which Spring application contexts they want to have clustered in the configuration file. Terracotta for Spring handles the rest. Spring applications are clustered automatically and transparently and are guaranteed to have the same semantics across the cluster as on the single node.

Historically, clustering an application has not been easy. To cluster Spring applications, developers must write a significant amount of code and change parts of the application. It also perturbs the domain model and breaks object identity.

Terracotta for Spring provides plug-in clustering for Spring applications with absolutely no changes to existing code. Single-VM Spring applications become clustered applications simply by configuring Terracotta for Spring to distribute the application context of your choice. Terracotta for Spring is a pure Java solution that is supported on Sun HotSpot (v1.4.2 or v1.5.0) running on Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or Windows Server 2003.
